OWH YEAH BAYBEH!
I'm back behind the blog wheel!
Kind of, I mean, I've lost my keys and have forgotten almost completely how to steer this thing, but I'm here and that is what counts, dangit!
"JAMIE WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" I pretend to hear you cry.
Why I have been off making comics non-stop for The Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon, you silly! You should go there since it's almost my real blog now anyway.
But hey, since you're here...
Just today I found this cool activity over here where you take a take an interestingly dressed cat and make it in to a real person. I think this thing must have ended weeks ago but I did it anyway. It looked like fun! So hey, since you are so cool and viewing this blog, despite my subconscious effort to drive you away through doing nothing to it at all, I will show you what I made!

Yeah, bunny-cat-girl-thing. there you go. Totally drew that. Like a champ.

I hate it of course, but that is the curse of any picture I draw these days. When I'm making it I'm all "Yeah, yeah! Awesome! WHATA VICTORY FOR MANKIND! Then ten minutes later when I step away from it, and look at it as a whole, I'm all "wtf is this?"

Man, how rough is my life? So rough!

Drawing 100% digital has presented new and unforeseen challenges to drawing for me the main one is this; drawing in any program when zoomed out will = horrible line quality, so the workaround for this is to zoom right in to eliminate that. Simple!

But ah, ah, ah! this is actually a TRAP! A dastardly photoshop trap! for the very second I zoom right in then BAM! the trap is triggered and I loose all sense of scale! I draw a hand or a head or something and think it looks great then zoom out only to find that HOLY CRAP IT LOOKS TERRIBLE AND NOW I HAVE DRAWN A BIG HEADED GIANT HANDED MUTANT!

Or even worse, this seemingly normal man now has the smallest head since I saw those goombas in the Super Mario Brothers Movie which I watched under protest because back then Sonic wasn't a lame -arse.

Sometimes this works in my favor though! Liiike the time I was making some promo art for Jack Cannon. Check this out;

Dude how big is Jacks hand?! It is just big enough! Realistically waaaay too big to be practical and stylistically big enough so it looks sweet and no one gives a damn about the realistic applications. Besides, we all know he's just gonna hit guys with it, so whatever!

I also did pictures of Angel and Cindy to compliment this picture, but obviously: I hate them. They are terrible pictures because they are not perfect. I don't think I should subject you to them.

Then again, what have you done for me recently? TAKE THIS HAH!

Haha! Hope you weren't planning on using those retinas!

Bleh. Oh well. one interesting thing I guess I should mention about the Jack Cannon pics is that they were all inked in illustrator. IT was my first time using the program and bloody hell if it isn't tedious! Yeah, sure , fine the lines are smooth but they took me foreeeeever! I'll stick with Painter for line art, I think.

I will post a one page comic I scribbled together at 4:30 in the morning that I currently feel is HILARIOUS and then I will go to sleep! I will wake up some time in the afternoon, work on my PROPER comic and then come back and look at what I have posted here.

I will then tell you how funny I feel it is after the sobering effect of a good days sleep.

So, I've been working on a new comic ever since I finished up with Blue Rocket, and I just kinda wanted to show all three of you that yes, the comic is comic is coming along, and hey, here's what it looks like.

This page is the result of me playing around with the idea of colouring the comic (which I will now, I think.) and trying out the new font I made.

Please keep in mind this is not the actual script for the finished comic, sadly. ;)

Look, pictures!

I think I called this one "Steroids made me a barbarian." Which is funny, because he doesn't really strike me as a barbarian, more like some kind of ranger/gladiator type with the prince's magical jewel encrusted sword strapped upon is broad ranger/gladiator type shoulders.
I sketched him out in painter ('cause I love their pencil tool. :p) and then moved into photoshop for inking and colouring and so on and so forth.
I think it turned out okay enough, I just wish I wasn't completely rubbish when it came to backgrounds. I suppose I'll have to work on that.

If I recall I entitled this piece "Pirate guy2" because Pirate guy1 had a different background. I drew this on some tiny pad I was handed when I started work at Blue Rocket. This was actually one of my favorite drawings I did at Blue Rocket and I was shocked when I found out I totally forgot to scan and post it before hand.
So yeah, then I gave it an outline and played with shading in photoshop. It turned out pretty nice for something that was originally drawn to kill time while I waited for commands to load and Flash to uncrash.

Which reminds me! I made a new banner for the Blog in Flash after people commented on how unprofessional the old one looked. I like it. It looks nice, I think.
Flash only crashed one time, too!
The main reason it's taken me so long to produce anything for the blog is because I have been very busy working on a new project which is, you know, a comic. I hope to get it off the ground soon. There are a couple of technical issues though, since I want to host the thing myself. The last comic I worked on for like, four years or something, and I didn't see a cent from the adds that my host plastered on my site. It would be so nice to generate some form of revenue off of all the work I put into these kind of things, even if it doesn't pay for the initial hosting costs.
Yyyeeeeaaannnyway, I'll post some initial sketches of the characters and give a little more background as I go. Just for something to do. :D

So on Saturday A bunch of Blue Rocketeers (of which I am one, yay!) went on the airwalk, which is basically a giant catwalk positions over a forest. I had a fantastic time even when I fell asleep on the way back. Here are some pictures!

Here we are! On our awesome way! Moral is high.

On our way to the airwalk we ran into a city full of people turned into wood! After eating at the bakery there we got the heck outta there! I rejected Airs suggestion to give the wooden people below the "dirty Kiss"

The toilets at the airwalk provided lots of useful information! And lots of questioning looks as I took photos in them.

We though these trees were pretty big! Little did I know we would soon see THE big tree.

Then we went on the airwalk. It was very terrifying; as you can see, our faces were full of FEAR!

(Clearly rose took it the hardest.)

The swaying bridge on the way back was surprisingly springy .

Behold the BIG TREE. It was Big, with a capital B. I think it was like 87 miters or so.

Well, that was our trip to the airwalk and the BIG TREE. It was great!

So that notebook that I mentioned? I scanned a buncha pictures from it. And look, here they are! Most of them are inspired by whatever Pixel Pinkie episode I was working on at the time. Tim did a bunch of sketches too. We're awesome.

Okay, so, this should work, I think? [Edit: IT DID!] So hey family and friends and that one guy who probably found this place by complete mistake, my name is Jamie Anderson, and you've stumbled into my blog.

I am a sort of artist animator type guy and am currently working at Blue Rocket Studios in Tasmania on their show Pixel Pinkie, it's almost finished now, but during the time I was working there I drew up a whole punch of sketches on some tiny pad we were given for, I don't know, notes or something productive, but everyone knows writing is for schmucks so I drew stuff instead.

I really liked how it turned out since most of my sketches were just random faces most of the time, so I decided I would take it home and ink and colour it in Flash! And so then I did. And so then it looked like this:

It should maybe be noted that in the actual official cartoon, Anni, (Girl in the middle) does not appear as a heartless murder machine with no feeling nor soul. On the outside.
